Creative Vampire Hours 🧛♂️✨

For some mysterious reason, my brain decides to crank up the creativity dial right around 9pm. It’s like clockwork—daytime me is fumbling around with ideas, but nighttime me? Oh, we’re off to the races. Bold, ambitious (okay, wildly over-scoped) ideas come flooding in, and suddenly I’m deep into designing some cosmic boss fight or reworking a game mechanic I was totally stuck on earlier.
Maybe it’s the stillness of the night. No traffic outside, no buzzing city sounds—just the soft orange glow from my desk lamp, the gentle whirr of my PC’s cooling fan, and my cat softly purring in the background like some kind of fuzzy co-pilot. It’s a whole vibe.
From 9pm to midnight, I’m firing on all cylinders—solving problems I couldn’t crack during the day, designing levels, sketching ideas, or rewriting dialogue that actually feels right.
Sometimes I wonder if I’m part creative vampire 🦇—thriving in the shadows while the rest of the world winds down. Or maybe I’m just someone who needs the day to get out, breathe some fresh air, go for a long hike, and let the brain quietly percolate before switching into full-on maker mode at night.
Bonus perk of working after dark? My game visuals look better. Like, weirdly better. Maybe it’s the lack of sunlight bouncing off my screen, maybe it’s just my eyes being more forgiving—but everything just pops.
Morning meetings? Yeah… they’re rough. But hey, this is the creative rhythm that works for me.
